Initiated by the team behind the former Norwegian Presence and curated by Kråkvik & D’Orazio, VOLUM was created to strengthen the international presence of independent Norwegian designers. Omhu joined forces with Jannicke Kråkvik, Kristine Bjaadal, and Sara Polmar to conceive, develop, and realize the exhibition in just six weeks.

VOLUM debuted at Other Circle, a new cross-disciplinary platform that transformed a cluster of warehouses into a gallery-like setting for design. The raw industrial architecture was reimagined through curated installations, creating an immersive environment that celebrated creativity across disciplines.

Inspired by the systematic language of archives and indexing, Omhu’s spatial design uses a large, illuminated grid to define the exhibition. The structure brings rhythm and order, enhancing each work while framing them as part of a collective - reminiscent of laboratories and museum displays. This approach nods to the concept of VOLUM as both an evolving platform and a living documentation of the Norwegian design scene.

This approach is closely tied to the graphic identity, developed by Jonas Vetlesen. Drawing directly from the exhibition’s title, the identity uses monospaced typography and animated design elements to convey a sense of industrial production and volume - while the designation “00” reinforces the project’s role as a starting point and prototype.

Together, the spatial and graphic elements create a unified and considered framework, keeping the works at the centre of the viewer’s experience while simultaneously marking and archiving them for the future.

Exhibitors included new & established independent Norwegian designers including: Hunting & Narud, Kristine Five Melvær, Bjørn van den Berg, Are Mokkelbost, Falke Svatun, Estelle Bourdet, Marianne Skarbøvik, Edvin Klasson, Darka, & Henrik Bjersand Sunde.
