Mon Oncle is an intimate restaurant with an open kitchen situated in Tullinløkka. For Espen Holmboe Bang's latest opening in Oslo we have balanced a formal atmosphere with a soothing milieu.
Incorporating colour with a modern and slightly feminin expression to create a contrast with the classical references within the menu.

Upon entering guests are immediately met with the exposed kitchen and bar framed with the soft pink tiled bar front with a Norwegian Rose marble surface. A narrow corridor provides a spatial break to the dining area. This partition is further emphasised with ceiling hung transparent drapes enclosing large Jenkins & Uhnger designed semi-circular banquettes.

Honed Calacatta Borghini marble has been chosen for the the tables tops, complemented with either Marcel Bruer's cantilever chairs in natural cane and beech or the rich and warm bouclé upholstered sofas. Above each a custom spot light is hidden within a PH5 lamp in shades of rose.

This warm palette is carried further on the walls and windows with sheer curtains softening the textile film coverings to create a defined yet soft barrier to the street outside. With USM shelving in a soft beige giving a honest expression to the service stations. A bold and brilliant red has been chosen to create contrast in the areas around the entrance and amenities. Floors are finished in site-cast terrazzo throughout.

The result is formal atmosphere with a warm and soothing milieu. Incorporating colour with a modern and slightly feminin expression to create a contrast with the classical references within the menu.
